A Tiverton PTO raised $3,000 to buy tents for school. But tents don’t meet the R.I. fire code

Parents at an elementary school here embraced Gov. Gina Raimondo’s campaign to “Take It Outside” by raising $3,000 to buy tents for outdoor instruction, lunch and recess -- only to be thwarted by the local and state fire marshal, who said the tents do not meet Rhode Island’s strict fire code.
